About Ketamine Infusion

Ketamine, a dissociative drug most commonly utilized as an anesthetic, is now being used to treat individuals with antidepressant-resistant depression. While traditional treatments for depression can take weeks to months before beginning to take effect, Ketamine has shown results in only a few days. Additionally, upwards of 20-30% of individuals are resistant to antidepressant medications. Ketamine infusion therapy has been proven to be highly effective in those who are resistant to other methods of treatment. Individuals who are experiencing suicidal ideations may experience relief within 24 hours. Although Ketamine does not cure depression, it has been proven to effectively relieve associated symptoms.

Bishop Medical Ketamine Infusion Services

Infusion Therapy for Depression in Delray Beach

We offer ketamine infusion therapy in Delray Beach in addition to ketamine Spravato treatment and transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) to clients who have been suffering from depression, postpartum depression, anxiety, PTSD and a variety of additional mood disorders. Depending on the treatment plan, each session will last for between 40 minutes to an hour. The number of sessions will depend on your assessed condition and personalized treatment plan. The session will take place in a private room in our Delray Beach ketamine treatment center, where you can either choose to have your family member(s) present or relax on your own. We consistently strive to make your experience safe, comfortable, and soothing.

Although each client will have an individual treatment plan, the standard induction phase consists of six infusions over a three-week period.

Treatment sessions are administered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8am-3pm at our Delray Beach treatment center. We are not currently offering services outside of these days.

Ketamine Infusion Costs at Bishop Health

Each client will be required to undergo a psychiatric evaluation at our Delray Beach treatment center to determine whether or not their current mental health needs meet our criteria. The cost of this evaluation is typically covered by major and regional insurance providers.

The cost of each individual ketamine treatment session will not be covered by insurance. A standard course of acute treatment is typically 6 sessions over a three-week period. If a client does not respond after the third treatment, the practitioner may discontinue care. We require an initial commitment of three infusion sessions at our Delray Beach ketamine treatment facility.

Frequently Asked Questions

The low doses of Ketamine treatment induces feelings that are euphoric and dreamlike.  Patients report a sense of deep relaxation.

Each patient will be required to get a psychiatric evaluation to determine if the patient meets criteria. This cost of this evaluation is $250 and is typically covered by insurance.

The cost of each ketamine treatment session is $800. A full course of treatment is typically 6 sessions over a three week period for a total of $4800. If a patient does not respond after the third the treatment, the practitioner may discontinue care.

Your initial and follow up visit with our psychiatrist may be covered by your insurance. Unfortunately, because Ketamine infusion therapy is considered “off-label” for use in the treatment of depression , insurance does not cover the infusions.

Each supervised infusion can take up to 45 minutes. Clients can expect to be at the facility for 90-120 minutes in total.

Dizzyness and mild nausea can occur especially with clients for a propensity to react to medications similarly. The practicioner has the ability to give nausea medications during your infusion session.

Every client is supervised by Bishop Medical staff to ensure their safety for the duration of their infusion.

We recommend 6 sessions to receive the full benefit of the treatment.
